It will only be a few more weeks until your kids head off to college, where they will be setting up house in their living space, be it a dorm room, loft, frat house or apartment. Of course, if they are like I was in college, they will have way to much stuff to fit into their new, smaller living space. When I was away at college, I had enough stuff for two people yet I had to cram all of into half of a dorm room.

Fortunately since those days of overstuffed dresser drawers and using wobbly milk crates for storage, manufacturers have come up with all sorts of products to help your kids use their small space more effectively without feeling like they have to put 10lbs of potatoes in a 5lb sack. Below are some of the products I wish I had back in the day:

The $15 Closet Doubler is a great way to increase the usable space in a closet.

These Adjustable Bed Risers for $18 will give your bed and additional 3, 5, or 8 inches or storage space for shoes, books, and plenty more.

The $14 PVC Corner Laundry Hamper tucks nicely away in the corner.

The Over the Door Hooks for $17 gives 10 additional hooks to store jackets, sweaters, sweatshirts and more and the Over the Door Shelf Rack for $20 gives them 2 more shelves to place books or towels.

Finally, the $25 Black Storage Cubes (pictured) will fit in nicely in any decor and give a lot of storage space for books, cd’s, magazines and plenty more.

Put More Green in Your Pocket on Black Friday

Written by Chris on November 25th, 2008

Traditionally, “Black Friday” is the Friday following Thanksgiving when many retailers can expect to start counting the bags of cash from the huge rush of customers beating down their doors at 4am to get the best deals on their holiday shopping. However, the current state of the economy and dismal fourth quarter outlook for those retailers has forced them to become more creative as they try to make their sales goals this Holiday season. And their creativity in offering new discounts means big savings for you, and on Black Friday they will put more green in your pocket.

Fortunately, you are not going to have to get out of bed at 3 am and deal with stampedes of rude, pushy and obnoxious people to get these deals either. If you are like us, you’ll have your fill of those people at your Thanksgiving gathering. Rest assured, FlamingoWorld has been on point this month, posting the Black Friday Deals that we have found so you can be ready to save. And we will be working through Thanksgiving posting even more deals for you as they come to us. You can simply wake up at a normal hour, log onto the Black Friday Coupons page at FlamingoWorld.com and sip your coffe while shopping for the best deals out there. For example, we found out that among their many early bird deals, WalMart is going to sell a Garmin 3.5″ Nuvi 200 GPS System for only $98, which will save you almost $50 over other stores. Oompa Toys is offering 15% off any order with the code Black2008. Target is even offering a sneak peak at their Black Friday deals when you sign up here.

Don’t worry if you don’t see your favorite store listed, check back soon as we will be working through the week to post the best deals that we find.

Happy Shopping and Saving!
