A&W Restaurants wants to help Americans get over high gas prices and rising food prices with some sweet relief.
On Monday, June 16, A&W will give all customers a free root beer float, no purchase necessary, at its nearly 700 stores.
"We want to give people a great start to their summer and a little economic relief by treating America to one of their favorite sweets, the A&W Root Beer Float," Ben Butler, the company's president, said in a news release.
A&W Root Beer is the world's No. 1 selling root beer. The company is a part of Louisville-based Yum Brands Inc. (NYSE: YUM), which also is the parent company of Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, Long John Silver's and Kentucky Fried Chicken.
